April is Autism Awareness month! Everyone in the district is invited to order a t-shirt to support the acceptance and inclusion of students in our schools who have autism. We will be wearing the shirts every Friday in April. Please see Mrs. Graves in the library if you are interested in ordering a t-shirt. Shirts will be delivered by Ms. Alpers at the beginning of March. The deadline to place an order is February 20th.

Students- The DREAM team will be attending the boys’ basketball game Friday, January 31st. All are welcome to join, we will be sitting on the away side in the section next to the band. The varsity game starts around 7 PM. See Officer Franzen to sign up. Join us for a great time supporting Coach Reed and our basketball boys!

Coach Kimball’s open gym for tomorrow has been cancelled.

Attention Seniors: If you haven’t come to the office to check your name for your diploma, please do so between classes or after school.

On Friday, 1/31/2020, students will be allowed to attend the IHSA State Dance meet in Bloomington.  Those students who have been invited to the Honor Roll Breakfast may come and eat and then leave for Bloomington after breakfast.  Breakfast will begin at 7:15 for the dancers followed by honor roll students.

We will use the following guidelines:

1. Prior to 4:00 on Thursday, 1/30/2020, students must have a parent phone call excusing them to go to the meet.  No notes will be accepted and students will not be allowed to use the office phone to call their parents.  If students do not have a phone call in by the 30th, they simply do not go.  The office will send out a list of students excused to attend to the faculty Friday morning.  Students do not need to report to school on Friday and are excused for the day.

2.Mr. Hamilton will be at the State Dance meet with the list of students excused to attend.  Each student will need to contact Mr. Hamilton at the Main Entrance to the coliseum to verify their attendance.  An Administrator will be located at the Main Ticket Entrance.  Students should sign their ticket and turn it into Mr. Hamilton.

3. Students who leave the building without a parent phone call, fail to check in at the meet with an administrator or do not attend the meet will face disciplinary action.

4. All students will need to have all homework turned in to their teachers prior to attending the competition.  Students excused to attend the state dance meet are responsible to get their homework and assignments prior to leaving on Friday. All homework will be due on Monday or as instructed by each individual teacher.  Failure to follow this procedure will result in zeros for all missed work.

5. The Class A Dance Competition will begin at 10:00 am at the Bloomington Coliseum.  Unity will dance at 10:39 am.  Tickets are $10 per session.
