If you drop off your child before school...

At 7:40am, a teacher will unlock the front doors and stand outside to supervise. When a teacher is outside, it is okay to drop off students. Under no circumstances are students to be dropped off before 7:40am.

Students should be dropped off at the flagpole using the outer lane. The inner lane is for buses only between the hours of 7:30-8:30am and 2:00-3:00pm.

To ensure a flow of traffic, any parent exiting the vehicle to help with a seatbelt or otherwise assist their child is asked to park in a spot to avoid blocking the drop-off lane.

Students dropped off after 8:15am need to be signed in by a parent in the office.

If you pick up your child after school...

At 2:45 (first bell), all students who are car-riders gather inside the gym. Staff helping with dismissal will use radios to begin calling students outside.

Parents/guardians will receive an orange paper with their student’s name on it. Please display this in your car window for the staff at dismissal to see.

Parents or guardians are asked to remain in the vehicle pickup line and pull up to the sidewalk loading area next to the flagpole.

To ensure a flow of traffic, any parent exiting the vehicle to help with a seatbelt or otherwise assist their child is asked to park in a spot to avoid blocking the pick-up lane.

On-time pickup is important and appreciated, as there is no scheduled supervision after school.

If after-school arrangements change, please call the office by 2:00pm so we can relay information to students and their teachers.

All bus arrangements should be directed to the staff of our contracted bus company, First Student.

First Student can be reached at (217) 903-4013.

Rainy Day Pickup Plan      (***NEW***)

When rain or other inclement weather is likely to impact dismissal, East will use a Rainy Day pickup plan. Under this arrangement, car-riders will be held in the gym until buses depart at 2:50pm.

Once buses depart, the car pickup line will use the bus lane to pull up closer to the building. This will allow students and staff to avoid exposure to the weather.

On days we will use Rainy Day Pickup, a notice will be sent to parents and posted on the school website. To receive these notices, be sure to use the “Unit Seven Schools” app (available in the iPhone and Google Play app stores) and have notifications enabled for our school.
