Unit 7 Schools have decided to use Educere to serve our remote learners. All Educere courses are taught by certified teachers online. If you contacted your child's school about using a school device, the school will be contacting you to set up a time that it can be picked up.
Lunch and Breakfast Pick Up
Meals are available for students choosing remote learning. Meal Pick Up will be Monday (two days worth of breakfast & lunch) & Wednesday (three days worth of breakfast & lunch) at 10:00am on the East side of the high school by the baseball field. Parents interested in receiving these meals must email me at email@example.com one time to let me know that they will be picking them up so we can get a beginning headcount. We will take down the names of the parents picking them up and they will be charged per meal: $3.10 lunch, $1.80 breakfast. Students receiving free lunch will not have to pay.
Please wear a mask when picking up meals.
Unit 7 will handle registering each student with Educere. Once registration is complete, each student will receive a unique username and password for login. This will likely come Monday afternoon or Tuesday, I will reach out to make sure that you have received the information. There is a brief video all students and parents are encouraged to watch that explains how to use the website.
Students with an IEP or 504 Plan
If your student has an IEP or 504 Plan, Educere will receive a copy of their accommodations just like a classroom teacher would.
Students participating in remote learning will be expected to participate in classes as they would in-person. Regular updates on student progress will be sent via email every week as well as a phone call home from an Educere representative every other week. All courses are self-paced which means students may work ahead but all courses must be completed by the end of the semester.
Support for Learners
Educere offers several options for students that may be struggling with their courses. Unit7 will be assigned a Personal Learning Coach. I will share that person’s contact information when we receive it. There is also Instant Teacher Access available from 6:30AM - 6:30PM Monday through Friday. This is linked directly in the website so students can chat with teachers as well as an interactive whiteboard for both teacher and students to use.
